Michael Jordan is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jordan attended the University of North Carolina, where he played college basketball for the Tar Heels. In his freshman year, he helped lead the team to the NCAA Championship.

Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1984, and he quickly became one of the top players in the league. He won his first NBA Championship in 1991 and went on to win four more with the Bulls in 1992, 1993, 1996, and 1997. Jordan was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) five times and was a 14-time All-Star. He was also known for his incredible athletic ability, which included his slam dunking prowess.

Jordan retired from the NBA in 2003, but he returned to the league in 2001 as a member of the Washington Wizards. He played two seasons with the Wizards before retiring for good in 2003.

He passed away on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74.
