1 cup warm water

1 tsp sugar

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp olive oil

1 cup tomato sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Assorted toppings (such as vegetables, meats, and herbs)

Instructions:

In a small bowl, combine the water, sugar, and yeast. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes foamy.

In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).

Roll the dough out into a thin circle and place it on a pizza pan or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, and top it with the mozzarella cheese and any desired toppings.
